Complex electrical contracting
For Gold Coast high-rises, body corporates, builders and developers
We are the electricians you call when the job is complex, or when your previous electrical contractor is struggling to finish it. We take over stalled and difficult projects, put right what does not comply, and see the work through to testing and certification.

When to call us
Most of our work comes to us because it is beyond a general electrician. Some of it comes to us halfway through, when a project has stalled.
- The job needs specialist design, staging or approvals
- Your contractor cannot finish, or has stopped turning up
- Work has failed inspection or does not comply
- The project is running late and the scope keeps growing
- Occupied buildings where residents need to keep power
- Energex supply, metering or capacity is involved
Taking over a job someone else started
Picking up another contractor’s work starts with finding out exactly what is there. We inspect and test what has been installed, check it against the drawings and AS/NZS 3000, and tell you plainly what can stay, what needs rectifying and what is left to do.
You get a clear scope and quote to finish the job, so the committee, builder or developer knows where the project stands before any more money is spent.

Six stages, one contractor
Whether we start the job or take it over, every project runs through the same six stages, with one contractor accountable from the first inspection to sign-off.
- Site inspection
We visit the site, review the drawings and paperwork, and see the existing installation for ourselves.
- Inspect and test
We test the work already done and record what complies, what does not, and what is unfinished.
- Scope and quote
You receive a written report and a clear scope and quote to complete the job, ready for committee or stakeholder review.
- Make safe and rectify
Anything unsafe or non-compliant is made safe and put right before new work is built on top of it.
- Complete the work
We finish the installation, coordinating with builders, building managers and Energex as the job needs.
- Test and certify
The completed installation is tested and certified, with test results and documentation for your records.

Can you take over a job another electrician started?
Yes. We inspect and test the existing work first, then give you a clear scope and quote to rectify anything that does not comply and complete the installation.
Will you sign off work another contractor installed?
We test the whole installation before we hand it over, including the work we inherit. Anything that does not meet the standard is rectified first, so the testing and certification you receive cover the completed job.
Do you offer general electrical work?
We work alongside general electricians to deliver the complex components of larger electrical projects — including major switchboard upgrades, civil infrastructure, and high-capacity commercial systems. Our role is to provide the specialist capability, compliance expertise, and project management required when a job moves beyond the scope of general electrical work.
How much experience does your team bring to major projects?
Rob Milla Electrical brings together over four decades of proven expertise in complex electrical contracting. We have delivered some of the Gold Coast’s largest and most technically demanding switchboard and infrastructure upgrades, giving us a reputation for precision and reliability.
